Poly bushings the easy way

Craigslist for the win once again. This time I just had to drive to Riverside where I met a great young entrepreneur with a warehouse full of parts cars. I just felt bad when asking him to essentially drop the front and rear subframes right after he told me about fasting. I helped with the front.

A bucket of Simple Green some tape and couple cans of Krylon later I have a set refurbished control arms complete with polyurethane bushings, awaiting install. It was nice to see the car they were coming from suffered engine failure as opposed to the more common corner impact. Everything was straight, and when I asked which kind over Craigslist he told me “it looked like the previous owner had expensive taste” so I was happy.

The only downside is the rear sway bar end links were previously sold and the rear sway bushing cracked in half before they could be installed. The noise will become much like a tire rub, but after lots of looking and feeling around I will not be able to find signs of wear. I also got to get a replacement for the right rear brake circuit to fix the bad bulb.
