Touge Run Rear Spoiler or How Much is too Much Rice?

Ever since seeing the Rocket Bunny kit for the NA Miata, and especially that duckbill, I have been on the hunt for just the right rear spoiler to adorn the back of the Craigslist Miata. Of all the options out there, the Touge Run piece fit the right balance of style and cost, so it was ordered. However; after mocking it up, the rear wing appears to be a lot thicker than it did online. Which begs the question, how much is too much rice?

TE-37s for the Craigslist Miata or Doubling Down on the CLM

If it weren’t for a friend making fun of my stock wheels, it would have been unthinkable to pull the trigger on a set of TE-37s for the Craigslist Miata, pretty much doubling the purchase price of the vehicle. There is only one wheel that should be on all cars, and while lots of time was spent looking for knock offs for the CLM as soon as these Volks came up on Craigslist it became a very serious consideration as it was only a matter of time before someone else snatched them up.

The previous owner imported the wheels from Japan, had them refinished, and then shod in a set of Federal RSRs. As all things go, after enjoying these amazing wheels for some time, their owner needed to move out of his parent’s house; and a thousand dollars suddenly seems like the right amount of money. It turns out the stock “acorn” wheel nuts won’t fit the new wheels, and the Federals are pretty good.

FDLB 2018

Another year, another trip under the Firestone bridge. It is such a cool feeling driving the Formula Drift Long Beach course, even at 5 mph. It is the one true street circuit on the calendar and while watching the drifters throw their cars within inches of these concrete walls from a live stream or jumbotron does no justice to just how tight the track really is.
