If it weren’t for a friend making fun of my stock wheels, it would have been unthinkable to pull the trigger on a set of TE-37s for the Craigslist Miata, pretty much doubling the purchase price of the vehicle. There is only one wheel that should be on all cars, and while lots of time was spent looking for knock offs for the CLM as soon as these Volks came up on Craigslist it became a very serious consideration as it was only a matter of time before someone else snatched them up.
The previous owner imported the wheels from Japan, had them refinished, and then shod in a set of Federal RSRs. As all things go, after enjoying these amazing wheels for some time, their owner needed to move out of his parent’s house; and a thousand dollars suddenly seems like the right amount of money. It turns out the stock “acorn” wheel nuts won’t fit the new wheels, and the Federals are pretty good.
